NHDEA to Sponsor Dressage 4 Kids Team
NHDEA is pleased to offer a chance for our young riders to attend Lendon Gray’s s youth dressage festival, Dressage 4 Kids which is to be held at the HITS show grounds in Saugerties, NY from July 12-14. During the festival, riders must complete a written test, an equitation test, and a dressage test.
We are inviting young riders who are interested in applying for the team to attend NHDEA’s annual meeting and Pizza Party dinner on March 3 at the Marion Gerrish Community Center in Derry NH from 6-8 pm. Interested applicants will be given a short “mock” test of approximately 20 questions similar to the one given at the festival.
Please bring a copy of your dressage test with the highest score from the highest level you competed in within the last year. You must also have a current membership and be in good standing with NHDEA. If you need to join the Club or renew your membership, you may do so online or at the Annual Meeting.
Young riders selected for the team will have their application fees, team shirts, and team tack stalls paid for by the club. In return for their sponsorship team members will be required to volunteer at a clinic or show and submit a short essay on their D4K experience that we may use in a future newsletter or publication. We will have plenty of information available at our Annual Meeting to answer any and all questions parents or young riders may have. We are looking for a serious commitment from potential team members. Prior to the March meeting please take the time to look at the D4K website to review the participation requirements. NHDEA Board members Sue Smith and Kat Villemaire will be heading up the committee for the selection of team members.
All young riders are encouraged and invited to apply!
